News about Foreign things
Hamburg
I will be writing a journal on the exploits of elite team of athletes who are representing are proud club in the prestigious tournament in Hamburg this June in the interests of keeping all the sad souls who cannot travel with us up to date.
I must immediately scotch all unfounded rumours that Hamburger RFC are bribing the BA unions to strike in order to try and stop Academy RFC from travelling. But I must point out, all this controversy only occurred after I publicly announced the team selection.
Last night was the preliminary training session for our home based players. Surprisingly 92% attendance at training (NB:1st XV & 2 XV players) .
The lithe and lissom bodies warming up were a sight to behold. Young boys mouths dropped at the sights they saw. A couple of teenagers were lured into playing touch rugby and were embarrassed by the skills on show.
The team worked intensely on our game plan which involved moving and trying to do something else at the same time. Challenging the team to even higher achievement, the concept of the ball was introduced.
I am proud ,that they grasped at it significantly well, for the team to actually to have ambitions towards playing rugby. Alas I could not find it in me to introduce the concept of contact to some. The thought of grown men in tears was too much for my sensitive soul.

Selection Criteria
The management will be using strict selection criteria for the tour.
All players will play (or at least move on the pitch) in the tournament (multiple times!) All players will bring suitable playing attire which must include boots, shorts, socks and any other protective wear which you may wish to wear . The club as a magnanimous gesture will provide highly sought after jerseys. Failure to have the correct playing attire at the tournament will be not be accepted as a reason not to play. Playing attire will be found !!!
No one can cry off without first having 2 signed doctors certificates ( no certificates signed by R McLaughlin will be accepted at all) and also by proving their incapacity to the management.
NB Drunkenness and sheer lack ability to play rugby will not be taken as proof of incapacity.
