Lisburn opened the scoring  when, after a catch and drive from a lineout on Academy's 22m line, their centre stepped past 2-3  defenders (7-0,  10 mins).

They could have extended their lead, but for I.Christies try saving tackle in the dead ball area. Instead A.Sloan closed the gap with a penalty on the 22 (7-3, 19-mins).

Academy's revival did not last long, with Lisburn's outhalf and centre combining to avoid a rush defense (12-3,  24-mins).

As the medical team dandered on to lash water around a dazed J.Allen, Lisburn scored another try (17-3, 35-mins).

At half-time Academy still believed the match was winable, but  produced nothing after the re-start to back this up.

Fullback P.Barbour put in a try saving tackle on Lisburn's wing forward, but this did not stop Lisburn, meerly slowed them down.

As centre J.Todd retired with an elbow injury, Lisburn scored a penalty (20-3,  53-mins) followed by a try from the re-start (27-3,  54-mins) and two futher tries from scrums on the Academy 10m line (34-3,  58 mins) and (39-3,  73-mins).

Academy's only consulation was when the ref awarded P.Barbour a try (70-mins) but he overturned this decision on the advice of the official linesman because R.Press had knocked on (39-3, fulltime).
