2002 age group
We had 12 kids attend for our away fixture against harlequins.
It was agreed to play 4 x10 mins games with teams of 8.
The goal set out for today's team was to tackle, tackle ,tackle!
The first game started with an immediate score for Quins which didn't bode well for the rest of the morning.
How wrong was this judgement.
The Academy team responded from the restart with Jack scoring a fine individual try.The rest of the game was played with both teams scoring again with some great tackles being made leaving the score 3-3.
The next game was a tighter affair with both defences dominating .Jack scoring after a great run from Zac and Matthew. Nik,Ben and Daniel were making lots of tackles leaving the coaches extremely happy at the end of the game.
1-1

The third game was played with a few changes for both sides with Jonathan and Archie coming on.( Quins had 25 kids to choose from). This didn't change the Academy team performance with tackles being made and some of the kids even passing the ball off the ground when tackled! The game ended 3-2 in Academy's favour with James and Patrick getting involved in defence and attack.
Before the final game a challenge was set by the coaches to stop Quins scoring.
The kids "did the coaches proud" and produced a fantastic display .3-0 .
Tom got the scoreboard going with Jack and Nik also touching down with
Joseph going close, just being bundled into touch short of the line.
The team again made excellent tackles throughout.
Well done to all the boys and see you at training next week.
Don't forget your homework with the rugby ball!
