Roughfort
Academy RFC train and play their matches at the J C Picken playing fields at Roughfort. The Club currently has a long term lease agreement with Belfast Royal Academy to use the pitches for playing and training. In the past 5 years Academy RFC in conjunction with Sports NI Lottery Funding has invested over £120 K in the playing surfaces at Roughfort.
The pitches are some of the finest playing surfaces that Ulster rugby has to offer. Roughfort can boast 4 full size sand based pitches which allow for rugby to be played in even the most inclement wet periods. One of the pitches has match standard floodlights which are used for training nights. Floodlighting is also provided to other off pitch areas for the more intense drills at training.
The club have access to a Rhino scrummage \ rucking machine along with tackle, rucking and spin pads. A room with free weights can be accessed by players at anytime. The facilities that Academy RFC have at their disposal are truly second to none.
